Mission Statement and School Improvement Goals
The West Albany Learning Community will provide a positive safe school with quality caring relationships engaging all students so they may experience success
We believe this mission can be enhanced by:
- Providing for and insisting upon a SAFE SCHOOL.
- Emphasizing the concept that each student must experience SUCCESS in his or her school work.
- Stress RELEVANCE between what the student does in the classroom and what he or she wants to do after graduation.
- Being FLEXIBLE and INNOVATIVE in the way we respond to the needs of the student and the community.
- All members of the community COLLABORATING and SHARING in the responsibility of learning for our students.
West Albany Goals/School Improvement Plan
West Albany High School will:
- Increase school-wide attendance rate.
- Achieve a true 0% dropout rate.
- Increase the percentage of students meeting the OSAT benchmarks in reading and math to 70%.
- Commit to strengthening meaningful connections with the diverse population attending our school and growing at-risk population.
