Based in Albany, Oregon, South Albany High School’s Robotics Team has started up again this year after a three-year hiatus. The Robo Rebels team, composed of 20 students aged 14-18, has some experience on its side, too, thanks to our Team Leaders and Mentors:

  • Chava Neuhaus, South Albany High School's Electronics and Woodshop instructor, is our Team Leader.
  • Steve Merrill, a long-time employee of Hewlett-Packard, is our Team Co-Leader and our project manager.
  • Ron Propp, a former Team Leader of many years, is our fabrication/assembly mentor.
  • Loren Johnson, an employee of Hewlett-Packard, and our team programming mentor.
  • Ross Greenley, a Hewlett-Packard, and our team electronics mentor.
  • Susan Lee, our Non-Engineer Mentor (NEM), heads up logistics concerning fundraising, public relations, food, and general care for the team.
  • Les Sheffield, a mechanical mentor.
  • Doug Roth, who has an agricultural background, is a mechanical mentor.
