School Bond projects at Periwinkle Elementary School:
*Add eating area and restrooms.
*Build covered play structure.
*Replace gymnasium floor.
*Add bus loop.
*Relocate playground.
*Improve classroom technology capability.
Bond projects elsewhere:
*Over $900,000 of projects at Calapooia Middle School (Periwinkle feeder school).
*Approximately $4.6 million of projects at South Albany High School (Periwinkle feeder school)
*Construct new Grade 3-8 school east of 1-5 to relieve overcrowding.
Accountability Committee:
The school bond is written so that funds go directly to classrooms, school buildings, and specified renovation and replacement projects. Funds will not go to administrative overhead or salaries.
An independent community accountability committee has been appointed by the school board to oversee all bond expenditures and ensure they are used for purposes approved by the voters.
