Opened in 1966, North Albany Middle School is proudly educating its second and third generations of Albany children. Located on a 26-acre campus amid rolling hills, the school serves the children from Central, Clover Ridge, North Albany, Oak Grove, South Shore, and Waverly elementary schools.

Staff
NAMS has 33 certified teaching staff, 3 office staff, 14 Educational assistants, 3 cooks, 3 custodians and 2 administrators.
Computers
Students have access to 76 color computers, all connected to the internet. Students use the computers before school, during classes and at lunch. The school library has computer access and an advanced system for information retrieval. Every classroom has at least one computer and many have more. NAMS has two full computer labs used for testing and class work.
The Arts
Four levels of band and two levels of choral music, as well as art, drama, home economics and publications. (Click here for more information about the band program.)
After-School Program
Extra homework help is available for students to reach state academic benchmarks and succeed in school. Open to all students daily until 4 pm.
School-wide Conduct Training
Every student is taught every year in the school's conduct expectations to prevent harassment and bullying and to foster excellent behavior. The NAMS BEST team designs these lessons and revises them when needed.
WEB Mentor Program
Eighth graders provide an organized welcome, instruction in positive character traits, and career awareness for sixth graders entering school.
Honors Desserts
Students are recognized twice annually for posting grade point averages of 3.42 or higher. More than half of the student body usually qualifies.
Community Service
Students donate 4,000 hours of volunteer help each year to the community. Efforts include Make a Difference Day, Down by the Riverside, Pennies for Patients, and other events when students, parents and staff members conduct a variety of community activities.
Leadership Class
Seventh and eighth graders perform school service projects, and provide recycling services and education. Leadership students organize dances and fundraisers like Pennies for patients.
Top Tiger
Awards five field trips per year for students with good grades, attendance and citizenship.
Tiger of the Week:
Each week, NAMS teachers select Tiger of the Week. Candidates are selected for outstanding citizenship, attitude and academics.
Parent Club
NAMS Parent Club has filled teacher wish lists, organized "Evenings with the Pro," worked with students on the NAMS courtyard and contributed money and time to many school projects.
