Substitute Information
Substitutes have an important and rewarding opportunity with Greater Albany Public Schools in supporting the educational achievements of our community's students. Your willingness to assist in this goal is sincerely appreciated.
To register as a substitute employee, you may report to or call the District Office or contact ellen.lindgren@albany.k12.or.us to get a substitute application packet. When you receive your packet, you will be asked to complete the following:
- Substitute Employee Profile form (certified/classified)
- I-9 Form - proof of citizenship (2 pieces of ID will be required)
- W-4 Form - payroll
- Payroll Information form
- Emergency Information form
- Criminal history requirements (classified only)
- Attend scheduled orientation sessions to view training videos (certified/classified)
Orientation for substitutes is held every Thursday at 1:30pm at the District Office, 718 7th Ave SW, Albany OR 97321. At the time of the orientation session, you will be instructed on using the automated substitute calling system (AESOP), view the required training videos and begin the fingerprinting process (for classified substitutes only) in order to comply with state regulations. Be prepared to stay approximately 1 1/2 hour to complete the orientation.
Certified Subs: The district requires that certified substitutes have an Oregon teaching license to teach in our district. This information may be obtained from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practice Commission at (503) 378-3586 or at www.tspc.state.or.us Please bring a photocopy of your license when you attend substitute orientation.
