Handbook
Since the first year of middle school, Calapooia has had a strong and effective parent group named the Calapooia Parent- Teacher Student Association (PTSA). The objectives of the PTSA members are to plan and sponsor activities catering to the interests of the students, parents, teachers, and to be a positive influence in the school to enhance children's education. They will plan: student, family, and community activities, programs with speakers for parents, and fund raising activities. They are also available as a help for teachers and administrators.
Throughout the year, the PTSA will schedule various activities and special parties for the school. Parents, teachers and students are requested to volunteer in order to ensure the success of the various projects. All monies earned by the PTSA fund raisers benefit the school, staff, and students. The PTSA meets at the school on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00pm. All faculty members are invited and encouraged to attend these regularly scheduled meetings. Staff members in attendance who have paid their PTA dues have full voting privileges and are considered essential contributors at the meetings.
