Electives
At Calapooia, we have some wonderful elective choices for everyone. Sixth graders may complete a course that runs through the year called "Cruise". Cruise is where every nine weeks, they change their class, so they get a taste of almost every elective. That way, they know what they're getting into! Although the sixth graders' choices are limited they still get to choose one fun elective: Beginning Band, Choir, or Cruise.
Honor Roll Students
An "Honor List" is published at the sixth and twelfth week of each 18-week semester. The "Honor Roll" is submitted to the local community newspaper, The Democrat Herald, at the end of each semester. "Honor Roll" students are recognized for earning a perfect Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of 4.0 or a G.P.A. of 3.4 or better.

Web Mentors
Web Mentoring isn't an elective, it's an honor that only eighth graders are chosen for. Web Mentors are kind of like role models for sixth graders to look up to. If sixth graders have a question, it's always good to ask the Web Mentors.
There are also special events throughout the year where the Web Mentors come to the sixth graders' sixth or seventh period classes, and play games and talk.
At the end of seventh grade, the next years' Web Mentors are chosen. The qualifications to be a Web Mentor are: good grades, good behavior, and teacher recommendations.
